Drop The Meds Eat The Right Vitamins For Your Ailments

An annoying health problem could actually mean that you're deficient in certain vitamins or minerals.

-  CRACKS AT THE SIDES OF YOUR MOUTH could mean that you lack Vitamin B2. Vitamin B2 is essential for cell production, and without it the body cannot renew skin cells around the lips quickly enough.

(Vitamin B2 is also needed to process food into energy, so fatigue and migraines can point to B2 deficiency as well.)

- LITTLE SENSE OF TASTE could mean that you lack Zinc. Those with lower levels of zinc in their red blood cells are less able to detect salty tastes.

(A zinc deficiency can also lead to more frequent infections, such as colds and flu, and delayed healing of wounds.)

- UPSET STOMACH could mean that you lack Vitamin A.

(The most likely sign of low intake is poorer ability to stave off minor infections.)

- FEELING GRUMPY could mean that you lack Iron.

(Feeling cranky- along with tiredness and poor concentration- is a common symptom of iron deficiency due to reduced levels of oxygen going to the brain.

- PUFFY ANKLES could mean that you lack Potassium.

(Potassium helps regulate the body's water balance and low potassium levels can contribute to high blood pressure.)

- GENERAL ACHES can mean that you lack Vitamin D.

Weak bones and widespread aches can indicate a lack of vitamin D because it helps develop and maintain bone and muscle.)

Scientists believe that the plaque build-up is connected to Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia.

Another study found that brain activity increased when people drank green tea, helping to strengthen their memory.

America's Snobbiest Cities Are:

In the annual survey of America's Favorite Cities survey, people were asked to rank the snobby attitudes of various cities.

The ranking was based on reputation, high-end shopping and cultural offerings, as well as tech-savviness, trendy coffeehouses, and over-the-top eco-consciousness.

The "winners" included cities with distinctive cultures, such as Seattle with its espresso-drinking software engineers, and Charleston, South Carolina where a quaint southern tradition blends with a modern foodie scene.

Here's the Top Ten Snobbiest Cities:

  2. New York City
  3. Boston

How Much Do You Love Your Pet.. Enough For Cosmetic Surgery?

More Americans are giving their pets cosmetic surgery.

Pets are now undergoing various cosmetic surgeries from braces and eye replacements to various lifts and tucks.

The surgeries are expensive and aren't normally covered under pet insurance.

But most veterinarians don't support cosmetic enhancement for pets unless they are for the health benefit of the animals.
