More Women Passionate About.. Farming
More women are becoming farmers.
In Michigan, there was a 17.6% increase in the number of female farmers from 2002 to 2007-- and that number of female farmers is expected to be higher when the new Census numbers are released early next year.
There have been similar increases in the number of female farmers in others states.
Experts say more women are turning to farming for several reasons: The explosion of farmers markets and Grow Local campaigns, a stronger emphasis on eating healthy and organic and growing food for their families.
Haunted House No Longer Allowing People To Go Through Naked
The "Naked and Scared" haunted house idea during Shocktoberfest in a Pennsylvania town has been cancelled.
The haunted house was going to allow people to run completely naked, but now people have to at least wear underwear to go through it.
The owner of Shocktoberfest said they could legally allow people to run naked but people in the town became uneasy with all the attention the haunted house was getting. People were also worried that the event was going to be about sex.
The owner said he got the idea for people to go through the haunted house naked from watching the Discovery Channel's show, "Naked and Afraid". The event was only allowing adults to go through the course naked at certain times when normal customers were not in the park.

For Dorothy that was 20 cigarettes a day, a half a pint of sherry in the morning, a gin and tonic for lunch, and whiskey and ginger at night. She quit smoking at 103 and cut down on the drinking a bit because of her doctor's warnings.
